Privacy Policy
Effective 29 October 2026
The short version
- The wake word, computer-control commands, reminders and your command history run and stay on your device.
- When you ask Jarvis a question, it goes to an AI provider to be answered. If you use your own AI key, it goes straight to the provider you chose.
- If you sign in, we keep a small account: your Google name, email and picture, your plan, usage counts, and short facts Jarvis remembers about you. You can view and clear them.
- Card and bank details go to Razorpay or PayPal. We never see or store them.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your conversations to train AI models.
1. About this policy
This policy explains how Jarvis ("Jarvis", "we", "us") handles personal information when you use the Jarvis desktop app for macOS and Windows, the Jarvis mobile app for Android, the web chat at jarvisapp.in, and the website itself (together, the "Service"). Jarvis is built and operated from India.
By using the Service you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Service. Our Terms of Service explain the rules for using Jarvis.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password.
- Profile details you type in. A name, nickname or email you enter in an app's profile or personalization screen. On mobile and desktop these stay on your device unless you are signed in and the setting syncs.
- Your messages and requests. What you type or say to Jarvis, and any photos, documents or screenshots you choose to send with a question.
- Personalization. Your preferred tone, reply language, custom instructions and similar settings. When you set these, they are sent along with your questions so Jarvis can follow them.
- Payment details. Entered directly into Razorpay or PayPal, never into Jarvis (see section 8).
- Feedback, reviews and support emails. Anything you send us, including ratings and reviews you post on the website, which are shown publicly with the name you choose.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Plan and billing records. Your plan, start and end dates, autopay status, subscription or order identifiers, and payment status as reported by the payment provider.
- Usage counters. How many messages and files you used today, so daily limits can be applied. These are numbers, not the content of your messages.
- Technical data. Your IP address and request metadata (time, app version, device type). We use them to detect your country for pricing, to limit abuse, and to keep server logs for troubleshooting.
- Browser storage. The web chat keeps your session, settings and chat list in your browser's local storage. We use no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. To count visits we use Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not identify you.
2.3 Information we do not collect
We do not collect your contacts, location, call logs, files on your computer, browsing history or passwords. Jarvis only touches these when you explicitly ask it to (for example "open Downloads" or "message Mum on WhatsApp"), and that happens on your device.
3. What stays on your device
- Wake word. Detection of "Jarvis" runs entirely offline on your device — on your computer, and on Android if you turn on "Hey Jarvis" in Settings ▸ Assistant (powered by Picovoice Porcupine, on-device). The phone app shows a notification while it listens, and you can turn it off at any time.
- System commands. Opening apps, volume, brightness, media, screenshots, typing, timers and similar actions run locally.
- Command history on desktop (a local file you can turn off, export or clear in Settings ▸ Privacy).
- Reminders and timers, scheduled on your device.
- Your own AI keys. If you connect your own AI provider key, it is stored on your device and used directly from there. It is not uploaded to our servers.
- App settings such as theme, fonts, voice and capability switches.
4. Voice and the microphone
Jarvis listens for its wake word on your device. Audio before the wake word is not recorded, stored or sent anywhere. After you start speaking a request:
- Speech-to-text may use your operating system's speech service (for example Google's speech recognition on Android, or Google's online speech recognition on desktop) or a transcription model run by our AI provider. These services receive the audio of your request only to turn it into text.
- Text-to-speech. To read answers aloud in a natural voice, the text of the answer is sent to a voice provider (ElevenLabs, with a backup voice provider). The device's built-in voice is used when these are unavailable.
- We do not keep recordings of your voice on our servers.
5. How we use information
- To answer your questions and carry out what you ask, on every device you use.
- To create and secure your account, keep you signed in, and sync your plan across devices.
- To personalize answers using your settings and the facts Jarvis remembers (section 7).
- To process payments, renewals and one-month plans. We also send receipts and tell you before a plan without autopay ends.
- To apply daily limits, prevent abuse and fraud, and keep the Service reliable.
- To respond to support requests, feedback and reviews.
- To comply with law, including tax and accounting requirements.
We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or build advertising profiles.
6. AI processing
Jarvis's answers come from large language models run by third-party AI providers. When you ask a question, the question, recent conversation context, your personalization settings and any attachment you included are sent to the provider that answers it:
- Free plan: through our server to Groq. If Groq is unavailable, Anthropic's Claude may answer instead.
- Pro and Max: through our server to Anthropic (Claude), with Groq as a fallback.
- Your own key: directly from your device to the provider you chose (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq or OpenRouter), under that provider's terms and privacy policy.
- Web search: if you turn it on, your question may be used to run a web search through the AI provider's search tool.
Our server passes requests through and does not keep a copy of your questions or answers except as described in section 7. We use these providers' business APIs, which under their published terms do not use API inputs to train their models. We do not use your conversations to train any model.
7. Memory and chat history
7.1 Memory
When you are signed in, Jarvis may save short facts you tell it about yourself so its answers are more personal on every device, such as your name, city, preferred language or "I'm vegetarian". Jarvis never saves passwords, one-time codes, card numbers or ID numbers.
- Viewing and deleting memories: Settings ▸ Memory in any app.
- You can also ask Jarvis to forget something, or email us to clear everything.
7.2 Chat history
- Mobile and web chat keep your conversations on your device or in your browser.
- Desktop keeps command history in a local file.
- Account sync. Some apps can sync recent messages to your account (up to the last 500) so they are available on your other devices. You can turn history off or clear it in Settings ▸ Privacy, and clearing it removes the synced copy too.
8. Payments
- Who processes payments. Purchases are made on jarvisapp.in and processed by Razorpay (India) or PayPal (elsewhere). The apps themselves never take payment.
- What we never see. Card numbers, UPI PINs, bank credentials and CVVs go only to the payment provider.
- What we receive. The email you paid with, the plan, the amount, order or subscription identifiers, and payment status, so we can unlock your plan, handle renewals and autopay, and send receipts.
- Your payment provider's policy. The payment provider handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.
9. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Jarvis, and only what they need:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in; speech recognition on some devices | Account identifiers; audio of spoken requests | |
| Groq | AI answers, photo reading, transcription | Questions, context, attachments, request audio |
| Anthropic | AI answers on paid plans and as a fallback | Questions, context, attachments |
| ElevenLabs and backup voice provider | Reading answers aloud | Text of answers |
| Razorpay, PayPal | Payments, subscriptions, autopay | Payment and billing details |
| Resend | Receipts and service emails | Email address, receipt contents |
| Render, MongoDB Atlas | Hosting our server and account database | Account, plan, usage, memory, synced history |
| Vercel, GitHub | Hosting the website and app downloads | Standard web request data |
| Google Play, Microsoft Store | App distribution and updates | Handled under their own policies |
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order or a lawful request by authorities. We may also do so to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or Jarvis. If Jarvis is ever sold or merged, user information may transfer to the new owner under this policy, and we will tell you before that happens.
10. Legal bases for processing
We process personal data:
- On your consent, which you give when you use the Service, sign in and turn features on. You can withdraw it at any time.
- To perform our contract with you: providing the plan you chose.
- For legitimate interests: security, abuse prevention and improving reliability.
- To meet legal obligations.
For users in India, we follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. For users in the EU, UK and similar regions, these are the corresponding GDPR legal bases.
11. How long we keep information
- Account, plan, settings and memory: until you delete your account or ask us to.
- Synced chat history: the most recent 500 messages, until you clear it or delete your account.
- Daily usage counters: reset every day.
- Payment and invoice records: as long as tax and accounting laws require, even after account deletion.
- Server logs: a short period, typically a few weeks, for troubleshooting and security.
- Feedback and public reviews: until you ask us to remove them.
12. Security
We use HTTPS for all traffic. Sessions are signed and can be revoked from Settings ▸ Account ("Sign out everywhere"), and our server holds only what it needs. On desktop, the local session file is readable only by your user account. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your devices and Google account protected. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
13. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and data. Email us from your account email, or use "Delete account" in Settings.
- Withdraw consent at any time, for example by turning off history, clearing memory, signing out or uninstalling.
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf (India).
- Complain to us first (section 18), and then to the Data Protection Board of India or your local data protection authority.
Without contacting us, you can use Jarvis without an account on the free plan, turn off history saving, export or clear history, clear memories, sign out everywhere, and turn off any capability in Settings ▸ Capabilities. We respond to requests within 30 days.
14. Device permissions
- Microphone: for the wake word and voice requests.
- Notifications: for reminders, timers and replies that arrive in the background.
- Exact alarms (Android): so reminders ring on time.
- Camera and photos: only when you choose to attach a photo.
- Screen recording and Accessibility (macOS) or similar on Windows: only if you use "what's on my screen" or ask Jarvis to control apps and type for you.
You can revoke any permission in your device settings. Jarvis keeps working without it, minus the feature that needs it.
15. Children
Jarvis is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Users under 18 should use Jarvis with a parent or guardian's consent, and purchases require an adult. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
16. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States and India. When data is transferred, we rely on providers' contractual and security commitments, and on transfer mechanisms permitted by applicable law.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Jarvis changes. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app, on the website or by email before it takes effect.
18. Contact and grievances
For privacy questions, data requests or complaints, email jarvisapp.in@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy". This address also reaches our Grievance Officer under Indian law. We acknowledge complaints promptly and aim to resolve them within 30 days.
